This is an in-depth study of the yoga postures. Through verbal cueing, physical demonstrations, visual photos in manual/ books and whole group discussion, students will deepen their understanding of safe postural alignment and intelligent sequencing. Students are introduced to the patterns that are dominating their body so that we can support a balanced clarity in the body, these patterns are shared in a whole group discussion as teachable moments for what you will see in/ how to support your students.
Each day the 2.5 hour yoga asana practice will teach students the power of vinyasa, weave in philosophical lessons, and focus on one area of the body or one type of yoga pose. We have a huge focus on safe alignment, individualized assists/ adjustments, and teaching to all body types.
Learning Muscles Through CLay
July 29, 30, and 31st — 1:15- 6:15 pm
The best way to learn anatomy.
This comprehensive kinesthetic learning experience gives students a tactile way to better understand the body. We build 64 muscles out of clay and adhere them onto a 3' skeleton while learning, through lecture, about each muscle's action, origin and insertion points. See how the muscles layer on top of each other and study the function of each muscle as it pertains to yoga asana.
